Great Turnout For the Annual Frozen Zucchini Snowshoe Adventure.
While there was not enough snow for snowshoeing, over 145 participants ran in Smart Farm of Barrington's 3rd Annual Frozen Zucchini Snowshoe Adventure on January 27. Smart Farm is an organization whose mission is to provide educational opportunities to encourage sustainable gardening and to raise and donate fresh produce for our neighbors in need. During the 2012 growing season, Smart Farm provided over 2,000 pounds of fresh vegetables to area food pantries. Smart Farm workshops on Gardening 101, Seed Starting, Small Space Gardening, Tomato Care and Composting will begin in March. Garden volunteers are always needed. Please visit www.smartfarms.org for further information on volunteering and workshops.
