If you want to hear humorous and poignant anecdotes about  Joan Rivers, Woody Allen, Harry Belafonte, John Travolta and Pearl Buck, come on out to a special event with local author and retired entertainment journalist, Sandra Pesmen at 3 p.m., Saturday, April 21, 2012. 

The public is invited to enjoy Ms. Pesmen's lively multimedia presentation - "Celebrities I Have Known" - where she will share her experiences interviewing these celebrities as well as many others. 

Sandra Pesmen worked as a reporter first for Lerner Newspapers and later as a features writer for the Chicago Daily News. When that paper folded, Sandy became Founding Features Editor of Crain’s Chicago Business and later Crain Communications Corporate Features Editor. She also wrote The Executive Woman column in North Shore Magazine for 20 years.

Sandy is a University of Illinois College of Media and Communications graduate, and was inducted into the Illini Media Alumni Hall of Fame. She also is a member of the Chicago Journalism Hall of Fame.

The event will take place at the clubhouse at Regency at The Woods of South Barrington, 1 Regency Boulevard in South Barrington.  The event is sponsored by national homebuilder Toll Brothers.
