Barrington School District 220 teachers and principals are making more than the average educator in Illinois, according to an analysis by the Chicago Sun-Times.

• Barrington 220 Elementary Teachers with 11.76 years of experience make an average salary of $71,145.20. This makes them the 39th highest paid elementary teachers in the state.
• Barrington 220 High School Teachers ranked number 50 on the pay scale, with an average salary of $74,576.55 for teachers with 10.95 years of experience.
• District 220 Elementary Principals ranked number 67, with 20.25 years of experience earn an average of $119,939.87 per year.
• The average salary for a Barrington 220 High School Principal with 13 years of experience is $127,783.75, for a rank of 82.

The highest-paid teachers in the state come from Township High School District 113, which includes Highland Park and Deerfield High Schools. The average teacher pay in that district is $104,737 annually, according to the Sun-Times analysis.

Elementary teachers in Illinois earns an average of $61,140, high school teachers make an average of $69,366.
