Barrington Churches Plan Easter Celebrations

Information on service times for Good Friday and Easter Sunday.

Community Church of Barrington
  • Maundy Thursday: Partnering with St. Paul and Salem United to host a dinner of soup, salad and dessert from 6-7 p.m. $7 per person or $21 for a family of 3 or more.
  • 7-8p.m.: Services
  • Good Friday: Services from 7-8 p.m.
  • Free breakfast from 9:15 to 10:30 a.m.
  • Services start at 10:30 a.m. entitled “Love Wins.”

St. Anne Catholic Church

  • Good Friday services at 3 and 7:30 p.m.
  • Easter Vigil at 8 p.m. on April 7
  • Easter Sunday services on April : 7 a.m., 8:30 a.m., 10 a.m., 11:30 a.m., and 1 p.m. 
St. Michael’s Episcopal Church
  • 6:15 a.m..: Stations of the Cross, 10 a.m.: “A Walk Through Holly Week”- a dramatic liturgy for children, suitable for all ages.
  • 7:30 p.m.: Good Friday Liturgy
  • April 7 to 8 p.m.: Great Vigil of Easter, a festive reception will follow in the Community Room
  • April 8: Mass at 7:45 a.m., 9 a.m., 11 a.m., receptions will follow all services in the Community Room
Presbyterian Church of Barrington
  • Good Friday Service: A Reading of the Passion from 12 -1:30 p.m. 
  • Worship Service with Communion 9 and 11 a.m. 
Salem United Methodist Church
  • Good Friday Service: 7 p.m.
  • 8:30 a.m.: Easter Breakfast served by Youth of Salem
  • 10:30 a.m.: Easter Service
St. Matthew Lutheran Church
  • 11:30 a.m.: Worship with holy communion
  • 7 p.m.: worship/Tenebrae Service
  • 6:30 a.m. worship with holy communion
  • 7:30 a.m.: Easter Breakfast
  • 8:30 a.m.: Worship with holy communion/festival service
  • 10:30 a.m.: Worship w/holy communion/festival service
Willow Creek Community Church
  • Good Friday services at 5 and 7:30 p.m.

  • April 8: 9 a.m., 11:45 a.m., 2 p.m. (all-Spanish)
St. Mark’s Episcopal Church
  • Noon: BCP service including Veneration of the Cross
  • 7 p.m.: Reflection on Jesus ministry and experience in word and song
  • Easter Vigil: 7 p.m.: The New Fire, songs ancient and modern, story telling and the first Eucharist of Easter.
  • Easter Sunday: 9 a.m. and 11 a.m.:  Festival Eucharist, music, flowers.
  • Easter egg hunt between services.

  • Good Friday Service: 7 p.m.

  • Worship at 7:15 p.m.

  • Family oriented service at 5 p.m. in the school gym.
  • Traditional service at 7 p.m. 
  • Traditional sunrise worship 6:30 a.m.
