It's that time of year again! Barrington High School Homecoming 2012 is happening Saturday, Sept. 29. Homecoming is more than just a football game and parade. Check out the schedule below to make sure you don't miss out on any events.
2012 Barrington High School Homecoming Schedule
Friday, Sept. 28
7 p.m.: Filly Football Game, Barrington High School Stadium
Watch the Juniors and Seniors of Barrington High School go head to head in this all-girls flag football match. The popular event draws a crowd, so be sure to arrive early to get a good spot on the bleachers.
Saturday, Sept. 29
8 a.m.-noon: Andy Anderson Pancake Breakfast, High School Cafeteria
The breakfast dates back to 1966 when Barrington resident Andy Anderson began serving pancakes to the football team on his front porch. Anderson was a charter member of the Quarterback Club, which is the boosters club for the Barrington High School football team. The $5 breakfast evolved into a fundraiser for the club and moved to Barrington High School in 1971. Breakfast will not be served during the homecoming parade.
10:15 a.m.: Homecoming Parade, Metra commuter lot
This year’s theme is “Out of This World” and will feature floats from all grade levels as well as Homecoming court members, marching bands, alumni and more. The event kicks off at the Metra commuter lot and continues down Main street to Barrington High School. Float winners will be announced at halftime of the Varsity football game.
2 p.m.: Homecoming football game vs. Schaumburg, Barrington Community Stadium
The Broncos (2-3) take on the Saxons (4-1) on home turf Saturday. Cheer them on as they fight for a homecoming win.
