Barrington High School Teacher on Administrative Leave

The school district would not confirm the staff member’s name, but said she has been on leave since April 16 for an internal review of operational aspects related to her department.

“It’s always a difficult situation for a school district,” Chief Communications Officer Jeff Arnett said. “We’re not able to disclose all of the details.”

Arnett did disclose that the matter involving the teacher has nothing to do with student safety.

“It’s nothing that remotely resembled inappropriate behavior with students or any circumstances that have threatened students in any way. It’s purely an operational review,” he said.

According to Arnett, the situation could be resolved in the near future; it’s possible that it might happen before the school year is over.

The district also confirms that operations within her department have continued to run smoothly despite her absence.
