Barrington Hills Woman Places Fourth in Car Race

Rachael Pinkerman, 22, of Barrington Hills, took fourth place in the legends division car race at the Madison International Speedway on Friday, July 20. 

Pinkerman took third in the qualifying session with a lap time of 14.167 seconds. In the following qualifying race, she took third with a lap time of 14.035. Pinkerman originally took fourth place, but the second place finisher was disqualified after a post-race technical inspection. 

Legends car racing is a type of car racing that started in 1992 as a way to involve everyone who wanted to participate. Pinkerman's car, according to www.myfinishlinephotos.com, is a 1934 Chevy Coupe.
