Barrington Spring Wine Walk is Saturday

Free wine tastings and other tasty treats on April 27.

 

The merchants in downtown Barrington will host a Spring Wine Walk on Saturday, April 27, from 2 to 6 p.m.  This event is planned to kick off the spring shopping season by introducing shoppers and visitors to the unique shops and restaurants in Barrington.

The Spring Wine Walk will offer free wine tastings and other tasty treats.   Seventeen shops and six restaurants are participating in this enjoyable event.  Customers can begin the Wine Walk at any participating business by picking up a location map for the tasting.  The participating stores are:

  • Village Center Merchants: Mia Sorella, Notice, Angelina, Bravura Home & Gift Shop, ReDeFind, Urban Flair, Grassroots, Acacia Organics and Roots 2 General Store.
  • Lageschulte Street: Norton’s U.S.A. and the Pink Geranium.
  • The Ice House Mall: Wine tastings at Chessie’s, with the Barrington Cultural Arts Center, Sanctuary Salon & Spa, Savvy Spirit, Solisq, Tommy Terri and Tootsies as merchant participants.
  • The wines for Saturday’s event are being provided by Heinen’s Fine Foods, McGonigal’s Pub, The Annex, Roots 2 General Store, Ciao Baby and Chesse’s. 

The Spring Wine Walk is a wonderful opportunity for shoppers and visitors to experience the shops and restaurants in the Village Center, the Shops on Lageschulte and Ice House Mall. Each shop will highlight their merchandise, unique gifts and specialty items while providing a fun, relaxed atmosphere. Plan to spend the day walking around town, tasting good wine, socializing with friends, finding that unique one of a kind gift, and then settling in for a wonderful dinner on one of our fine dining establishments in Barrington. 

Anne Garrette, event and marketing coordinator for the Village of Barrington commented that “This is the first Wine Walk to be held in 2013, and the merchants are pleased to use this event to open the Spring Shopping Season in Barrington”.
