Barrrington Announces Upcoming Cultural Events

The village of Barrington aks residents to mark their calendars for these upcoming events:

Love Barrington!

Saturday, Feb. 11, 2 - 4 p.m.

Looking for a fun family outing on a winter afternoon? 

Come to the 3rd annual “Love Barrington” Family FunFest, sponsored by the Barrington Cultural Commission and the Village of Barrington.  

Beginning at 2 p.m., DeeDee Gallagher will get your blood pumping with dancing fun as she leads you to “Move to the Groove”. 

Then at 2:30, Dennis DeBondt, an Amazing-Hilarious-Dynamic- Inspiring magician will entertain the crowd with a fabulous performance. Fast on his toes, quick with his wit and at 6’7”, he brings fun to new heights and brings loads of laughs for children of all ages.

 The grand finale will be a performance by the Barrington Children’s Choir, followed by a short workshop with some of the older choristers.  They will teach the children a special Valentine song, and then everyone will perform for the crowd. 

No fee. Open to the young and young at heart.  Don’t miss this phenomenal event on Saturday, Feb. 11, from 2 - 4 p.m. at , Barrington Room, 235 Lions Drive.

Winter Wine Walk

Saturday, March 3, from 2 – 6 p.m.

Join the and merchants along Cook and Station Streets for an afternoon Winter Wine Walk. Come to cozy downtown Barrington to shop, sip, nibble and then stay for dinner.  Participating stores and restaurants include Grassroots, Angelina's, Barrington Flower Shop, Mia Sorella, and Park Avenue Wine Bar.

Barrington Celtic Fest

Friday, March 16 and St. Patrick’s Day, Saturday, March 17

The Barrington Celtic Fest is returning to the Village on Friday, March 16, and Saturday, March 17.  The two-day festival will run all day, beginning at 11:00 am.  A huge heated tent will be set up on Park Ave. alongside and The Park Avenue Wine Bar so that patrons can enjoy the celebration outdoors without worries about the fickle March weather. There will also be lots of entertainment and activities inside McGonigal’s Pub.   Special guests, bagpipers and other surprises are planned, so make your plans to join us for this fun annual event!

Barrington Art Festival

Saturday, May 28, and Sunday, May 29

10 a.m. - 5 p.m.

Amdur Productions proudly kicks off its 29th season with the Barrington Art Festival on Memorial Day weekend.    Free and open to the public, the Barrington Art Festival will offer the work of over 120 juried artists from around the world in a variety of mediums, including ceramics, fiber, glass, jewelry, metal, photography, watercolors, wood and more.  In addition to the incredible artwork available for purchase at the festival, guests will be able to enjoy live music from several bands and musicians who perform throughout the weekend.  Epicurean delights, including indulgences from local restaurants, will also be available at the festival.  Activities for kids, including an interactive art wall where children can help create a mural, make the Barrington Art Festival the perfect family experience.
