District 220 Race Still Undecided

The race for the third seat on the District 220 School Board is still up for grabs.

Two candidates have been elected to the Barrington Community Unit School District 220 School Board, but the third seat remains too close to call.

Incumbent Brian Battle secured 2,766 votes across Lake, Cook, McHenry and Kane Counties, guaranteeing himself a third term on the board. Newcomer Joseph Ruffolo also received enough votes to delcare victory with a total of 2,637.

The third seat is still up for grabs. On Election Day, Thomas Antoine was ahead of Richard Burkhart by 13 votes. However, additional absentee and provisional ballots counted in Lake County this week have pushed Burkhart ahead by three. Cook, Lake, McHenry and Kane Counties have until April 19 to count all remaining ballots and finalize the votes.
