Fire Destroys Barrington Hills Home

The blaze ripped through the Otis Road home on Sept. 24, 2012.

A pile of burnt wood and brick is all that’s left of a home in Barrington Hills after fire tore through Monday night.

A Box Alarm was pulled for the fire at the home at 97 Otis Road between Brinker Road and Hills and Dales Road around 9:30 p.m. Monday, Sept. 24, 2012. Witnesses say the flames and smoke were so intense that it appeared as if a small plane went down.

Barrington Fire Department Chief Jim Arie said fire officials arrived at the scene within five minutes of the 911 call being made. The entire residence was completely engulfed in flames upon arrival.
