A frequent customer of McGonigal's Pub in Barrington has passed away, the Pub reports on its Facebook page.
"This is sad news indeed...the world lost a great man today. Ed Dewitz was 91 years old, a WWII veteran and a good friend of many of us at the Pub. He was able to walk here a few times a week for the two Miller Lites that his doctor said he could have, and was always a joy to be around. There are so many great stories to tell about him, but suffice to say he was an amazing man and will be greatly missed. Funeral services will be on April 6th, more info posted as it becomes available," a post on the Pub's Facebook page reads.
