NFL Free Agents to Visit Barrington High School

Matt Mayberry and Desmond Clark will be at Barrington High School on April 19.

 

NFL free-agents Matt Mayberry and Desmond Clark, both formerly of the Chicago Bears, will join Stedman Graham to speak at the Athletes Against Drugs (AAD) identity and leadership event at  on Thursday April 19, 2012 from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m. with a photo-op from 8:30 a.m.

Matt Mayberry, Desmond Clark and Stedman Graham will speak on leadership skills to over 2000 students of Barrington High School, together with the importance of AAD’s message of abstaining from drugs. AAD’s identity and leadership events are part of the organization’s programs that have impacted the lives of over 20,000 youth across the country. AAD programs include education, health and wellness, sports camps and events with keynote speakers and athletes. AAD’s aims to improve the lives of youth throughout Chicago and other major cities by instructing them on how to build healthy bodies, strong minds and to live a drug-free life.

Stedman Graham, whose new book is entitled, Identity: Your Passport to Success (FT Press) is chairman and CEO of S. Graham & Associates, and the founder of AAD. Graham has a lifelong commitment to youth and community, and has authored eleven books including two New York Times best sellers, You Can Make It Happen: A Nine-Step Plan for Success and Teens Can Make It Happen: Nine Steps to Success. Matt Mayberry is a free agent NFL linebacker formerly with the Chicago Bears. Matt was an All Big Ten linebacker who played at Indiana University. He is a passionate fit life coach and motivational speaker, who has been in the fitness industry for over 20 years, and is noted for his intense workouts. He is a captivating speaker whose approach is to inspire change, and help people grow in all areas of their lives.

Desmond “Dez” Clark is a 12-year NFL veteran Tight End who is currently a free agent. He wore number “88” for the Chicago Bears, who released him in 2011. He is the founder and executive director of 88 Wayz Youth Organization, a mentoring program that focuses on an innovative, cognitive-behavioral approach to youth mentoring, to create a mindset equipped for success. Dez also hosts an online video program with Alex Brown, “The Dez Clark and Alex Brown Show.”
