In my opinion nothing have changed. i see 4 more years of the same. Out of control legal immigration and million of illegals coming across our border elected Obama. No jobs and out of control population means trouble ahead and more welfare for unemployed low income people.. GOP ? Do not throw in the white towel is what Democrats want you to do....stick to your guns and don't give up..GOP
say no to amnesty--and to the dream act, if 20 million illegals get amnesty? GOP will never see the inside of the white house again..
Immigration enforcement and cutting down on legal immigration is the only hope for the GOP to someday see the inside of the white house again..America have been taking over by Mexico and by south America.
9:40 am on Wednesday, November 7, 2012
"Nothing have changed..."? "America have been taking over by Mexico..."? Jose, your inability to write a grammatically correct sentence suggests that you are the immigrant.

Miles O'Bone is not his real name. It's just a pseudonym. He is an Irish male porn star.

*I say no, no , no and maybe it is time to send the illegals back from wence they came. With their drugs, whores and gang violence. We have been invaded and thank GOD we still have our guns and won't need to use pitchforks to drive back the invaders. The democrats won this time, hopefully we will survive the next 4 years and as for the dream act, it is an infringement to our economy, with the illegals now allowed to legally work, there is less job opportunity for the real citizens. Damn the democraps and what they have done, they should all rot in hell, but that might be too good for them

If you can't prove your worth to an employer over an illegal immigrant, perhaps it is time to take a hard look at your qualifications and why you have such low worth?

Boehner is back and Congress still has a Republican majority so despite the people understanding what needs to be done, we still have the ideology wall to break down enough to compromise. A good start would be to ship Grover Norquist back to where ever he came from and forget about that agreement they all signed. Republicans need to Compromise....Obama is willing to.
10:30 am on Wednesday, November 7, 2012
Yes he is back and will be telling his minions when and when not to clap at the next 4 State of the Union speeches.

RB Congress consists of the Senate and the House. Republicans have Majority in House and Dems majority in Senate.

52% of the American people receive some type of government check. Roughly 52% of those who voted cast their ballot for Obama.
Coincidence? I think not.
It has been said that the Republic will cease when the majority realize that they can vote themselves funds from the public treasury.
"So this is how freedom ends. Not with a whimper, but with thunderous applause."

11:46 am on Wednesday, November 7, 2012
However, as one of the iron rules of history says, "Great
nations will eventually develop great problems." America
fell victim to its own successes. Ambassador Henry
Grunwald, quoted by Richard Lamm in his lecture, "The Rise
and Fall of the American Civilization," said: "For freedom
to be workable as a political system, there has to be
strong inner controls; there has to be a powerful moral
compass and sense of values." America, eventually obsessed
with its affluence and indulging in its luxuries and
freedoms, lost this inner control and spiraled into
decline. There started a drastic absence of morality, and
such will, at some point, affect the entire society and
will inevitably bring about its downfall. America fell just
before the turn of the twenty-second century at the hands
of the new Asian economic imperialism.

"Republicans need to Compromise....Obama is willing to."
Really? I have not noticed any compromise from the Democrats. All I see is two parties are are intent on destroying anyone who runs against or disagrees with them. I would love to see a campaign when the candidate tells me why he or she is qualified for the office, and mentions absolutely nothing about the opponent.
8:51 pm on Wednesday, November 7, 2012
No compromise, to do so is to admit defeat. If you believe in your convictions let no one stand in your way.

It amazes me that liberals got re-elected in Illinois. Possibly the worst run State in the Country (all currently run by madigan and his liberal pals)...good luck with Obama too he will force companies to pay the obamacare penalty instead of paying healthcare and everything will be run by the gov't...as a small business owner with over 50 employees - I'll pay the penalty rather than higher rates - that won't help people but I'm not going to take a hit! Liberals just don't get it...higher taxes do NOT equal more jobs and that's what we need. I hope you liberals step up to the plate and admit you're wrong as obamas socialist ideas take hold...good luck!
8:55 pm on Wednesday, November 7, 2012
Obamacare is already reflected in many ways now. Medicaid is dealt out like an HMO, new medicare plans offer $0 premiums and $7 co-pays for a primary Dr. I haven't heard what it costs for the specialist for open heart surgery or if you will be allowed a liver transplant if you are over 55. This is not freedom of choice unless freedom of choice means you can choose to die because our government says it is OK.

"America's future has never looked brighter"......yeah if you prefer being unemployed because the gov't will pay you to not work, yeah if you like the breakdown of family values with the gay marriage vote, yeah if you like paying for illegal immegrants food/healthcare and housing through increased taxes, yeah if you like borrowing from China for every GD program you can think of to fund the short term and screw our kids futures, yeah if you like the fact that the hispanic vote pushed it over the top in Florida.........let's hold on these next 4 years and then hope the bleeding hearts finally see they're no better off and vote for republican Chris Christie in 2016
2:01 pm on Wednesday, November 7, 2012
screw Chris Christie... i want a conservative president.
it's gonna be Marco Rubio, unless the Democrats can personally destroy him and his family before 2016. Make no mistake about it, Rubio is target number one for the left from here on in.
8:58 pm on Wednesday, November 7, 2012
Just one more lie in the long string of lies by Obama. He has failed in everything except forcing obamacare down our throats. Make sure that when you burp, to thank him for that privilege.

2:57 pm on Wednesday, November 7, 2012
It's so interesting how the majority of comments here don't reflect what actually happened in the election. I noticed that throughout the campaign- very anti-Obama rhetoric, yet clear victory for the president. I suppose folks are right when they talk about the "silent majority".
9:03 pm on Wednesday, November 7, 2012
I don't know about out of Illinois, but here the rheteric was against all republicans, look at Tammy Quackworth, sure I feel sorry she had injuries in Iraq, but no way did that qualify her to even polish my shoes. She played on the liberal, sympathy (the dumbasses) and re-districting to get her elected and smeared Walsh without regard to his family and the fact he was cleared of the allegation. So much for fair practices, but then we have no laws governing fairness or low down scum saying what they want. In fact our constitution gives us that right, and when I say all the dems in office are jackasses and dirtbag scum, it is my right to say so.

8:18 pm on Thursday, November 8, 2012
I think I'm starting to agree with 'just sayin'.
3:15 pm on Wednesday, November 7, 2012
"Clear victory"? Not so much. Even the media are writing about how the country is split 50/50. You noticed the anti-Obama rhetoric (I do not disagree that it existed and I do not like it), but you did not notice the anti-Romney rhetoric? The 8th District was loaded with viscious and hateful mailings from the Illinois Democratic Party.
4:06 pm on Wednesday, November 7, 2012
I agree about the Anti-Romney rhetoric being out there as well, but check any news article with comments anywhere online regarding the election (that is non-partisan)- Anti-Obama, extremely hateful comments are like 5 to 1, yet he won. Not taking a side either way, just saying that it's interesting that vitriol doesn't reflect the result. If it's THAT bad, it shouldn't even have been 50/50.
8:28 am on Thursday, November 8, 2012
Did yo feel the same way when Bush won his first term? Won the electoral college and lost the popular vote to Al Gore. This country has been 50/50 for over a decade. I am a Republican and I disagree with the path that my party is on. The Far right has gone too far and the party needs a new direction. The negitive campainging was on both sides of the asile and is very discourging.
3:57 pm on Wednesday, November 7, 2012
Ah yes, a bright future with dim voters
4:19 pm on Wednesday, November 7, 2012
Don't be so hard on yourself.
4:07 pm on Wednesday, November 7, 2012
"Never been brighter"? Wow, that has to be the biggest lie Obama's ever told. Never? This moment, with 16 TRILLION in outstanding debt is the moment with the brightest future? This moment with the slowest post-recession growth in decades? Right.
4:22 pm on Wednesday, November 7, 2012
Tom, no anti-romney rhetoric? If you're a proud, good, old school dem, I'm sure you'd be embarrassed to ask for help. But maybe you fit into the 4 liberal categories...1. Those who think "change" means what can I mooch off the gov't to not be able to work 2. Those who are jealous of people who are more successful and want what they have...3. Bleeding Hearts who can't separate the truly needy from the moochers and feel sorry for everyone or...4. special interest groups such as overpaid union workers or gays rights devotees. It's hard to get over 49% of the vote when these groups keep growing!..Which group do you belong to TOM?
5:17 pm on Wednesday, November 7, 2012
Ahhhhh, I love the smell of whiny teabagger in the evening......
8:22 pm on Thursday, November 8, 2012
Deerfield, perhaps you can help me with #3? Do you have a way to separate the truly needy from the moochers? Im pretty sure you do and would love to hear it so i can be sure we are helping the 'right kind of people'
4:30 pm on Wednesday, November 7, 2012
I don't think I said there wasn't any anti-Romney rhetoric. In fact, I agreed with the other poster (re-read comment please) that there definitely was some. I just the amount of hateful comments towards the President online all election season long does not reflect the result, and was questioning what that means. It seems like an fair, non-biased question to me, but perhaps I should it frame differently?
7:11 pm on Wednesday, November 7, 2012
lets do some math: 16t in debt that's 160B a year at 1%, and 5% of 2012 budget. But how long will we be at 1%.... at 5% interest rate, it will be 800B, and it will be 27% of Budget and growing.....27%, that's money that could go for lots of things but instead your children will have 27% less annual budget to spend. And if rates go higher it gets much worse.
Same in IL 40B in debt with our credit rating getting worse everyday and no Fed, so we cant print money. Dont forget about the unfunded Pension liability too. That debt is a burden to your children and it is irresponsible.
One day the chickens will come home to roost and the math may be much, much worse. In my mind we all lost yesterday......but most all our future generations are losing.
7:13 pm on Wednesday, November 7, 2012
and the worse our credit rating gets in IL the higher the rates go.......risk/reward for investors.
8:43 pm on Wednesday, November 7, 2012
The GOP failed because it pandered to the extreme right. The same outspoken right that dominates the comments on the LF Patch. Tea party, your rally cry was heard, mostly snickered at, and ignored.

9:20 am on Thursday, November 8, 2012
Softball, yes I did feel the same way when Bush won his first term. My point was that this was not a "clear victory". I also noted that the viscious and hateful campaigning is on both sides, and I think it is despicable. I would like to see campaigning where a candidate tells me what qualifications he or she has and what makes them the best person for the office and never hear them mention their opponent once.
9:25 am on Thursday, November 8, 2012
Let the layoffs begin.
Business owners are now laying off employees because of the Obama victory and what it means to their business. A Las Vegas owner laid off roughly 20% of his staff yesterday.
Many Democrat voters just don't understand the implications of Obamacare on small business and the threat of higher tax rates and continued astronomical corporate tax rates. It's math, pure and simple.
9:37 am on Thursday, November 8, 2012
I heard somewhere that 97% of small businesses make under $250k and would not be affected by tax hikes. Is that true? I'm a learner, and I would like to wade through the partisan comments to really understand how public policy works.

Janet, So true! This past election has been 90% 'attack ads' with no substance as to what the person thinks, feels, stands for. I believe the English have the correct way of doing things. Electioneering can begin only x weeks before an election and you're allowed to spend only Y amount of money. To many of those now elected will get sworn in and then start running for re-election within a matter of weeks.
Dan, True ... the economy remains in the toilet ... markets drop big time the very nextday ... housing still in the dumps ... unemployment figures still high and they don't even reflect the number of people that have just given up looking or no longer can claim unemployment compensation. Of course things 'look brighter', when you're at the bottom of the well the only place to go is up ... unless more government comes along and digs the well deeper!
2:09 pm on Thursday, November 8, 2012
To just sayin,
Whomever you are the name calling doesn't offend me as much as your existence. You show by your remarks your IQ is probably less than the 100 some say they think is avg. You are no doubt typical of the liberals, but I wouldn't categorize you because any category I try to put you into would only insult the rest of those in that group. But it would be suffice to say you are a JACKASS
2:33 pm on Thursday, November 8, 2012
Wbpprint...you sir or Madame are a joke. Who cares what you think of me...in fact no one cares what you think period. Well...if anyone would consider that blather thinking. One can only hope you did not procreate ...the gene pool suffers enough without your DNA continuing. Go crawl under that rock you call home.
cares what you think of me. Clearly I don 't.
8:31 pm on Thursday, November 8, 2012
Now boys... Play nicely.
(But just an FYI to wbpprint, IQ of 100 is by definition, average. The median of the bell curve is set at 100. I wont insult your intelligence, but you can easily google it if you wish)
2:55 pm on Thursday, November 8, 2012
Just sayin so I found you here too.....you're the guy who wanted to see Romney catch a bullet YOU SHOULD ALL KINOW THAT.....I'll watch for you in the city in your house made of cardboard - loser!!!!!

@Deerfield.. why do you think that Just Sayin is a guy? you must not get the same read on her that i do from her comments.
5:06 pm on Thursday, November 8, 2012
Obviously civility is still lacking even though the election is over. Name calling is always counterproductive. The election is over, & whether your candidate won or lost, compromises are going to have to be made on both sides of the political spectrum. The members of the House & Senate are going to have to learn to work together to get us out of the hole we are in, & the President is going to have to step up & lead because that is what a President does.
What has been happening & is still happening in Washington is like a divorce. Each side blames the other for the problems, & neither is willing to accept any blame for their part of the problems.
No matter what political party we belong to, we need to hold our elected officials feet to the fire. There is a lack of civility in Washington & in Springfield, & both parties are equally to blame. If compromise cannot be reached, we are in for some very hard times. Our children, grandchildren & great-grandchildren will pay for the mistakes our government makes. It is definitely unfair to place that burden on them. BTW. My candidate lost!
5:35 pm on Thursday, November 8, 2012
Please explain what compromise Republicans can make that will save our children and grand-children from crushing debt.
8:32 pm on Thursday, November 8, 2012
Thank you DeAnn. It would be nice if we could all work together a little more.
8:26 pm on Thursday, November 8, 2012
Dan. Could be a girl with a gun....very true....I'll watch for her in less desireable locations...thanks. Gary Good question bush left us w debt and Obama doubled it.... You have to do what Romney said....if a program requires we have to borrow from china- its dropped. Have to say no and make tough decisions ....require china to reduce any interest and start paying back. ...even better charge these countries for our protection and sharing of technology and well be in the black within a short period. The liberals are unwilling to cut anything ....cut the union ties and no one gets govt help without passing a drug test....that will stop the funds to "just sayin" and HER types
