Outgoing Lake County Board Member Endorses Barrington Area Candidate
Stevenson Mountsier has decided not to seek re-election to the board in 2012.
A Barrington-area Lake County Board member has decided not to seek re-election in 2012.
Lake Barrington resident Stevenson Mountsier has served the county representing District 17 since 1996.
“I feel its time for a new generation of Republican leaders to engage and serve their local government,” Mountsier said.
After his term ends in 2012, Mountsier will stay in Lake Barrington with his family, and will continue to work with the Coordinated Transportation Committee and the Barrington Area Conservation Trust Board.
Mountsier is endorsing Nicholas Sauer of North Barrington to take his position on the Lake County Board.
“After careful consideration and encouragement from local leaders and fellow citizens, I have decided to enter the race,” Sauer said. “As a county board member, my priorities will include keeping taxes low for our families and small businesses, supporting a pro-growth economic agenda to attract jobs, maintaining our AAA bond rating, and sustaining the natural resources and environment that make our area so unique,” he said.
Sauer is partner in his family-run design firm, Sauer Kitchen Solutions. He is also a member of the Barrington Community Unit School District 220 Board of Education, and is involved in a variety of other local organizations.
