Patch Flash: Some Carmel Alums Say Santorum Doesn't Represent Catholics
Chicagoland news to talk about: Blago leaves home for for federal prison.
Does Rick Santorum represent Catholics? Fellow alums of Carmel High School say he doesn't practice the type of Catholicism taught at the school; Santorum campaign director has a response. Plus, they have pro- and anti-Santorum Facebook pages.
Convicted former Gov. Rod Blagojevich left his home early Thursday for a trip, first by car and then by jet, that will end at a federal prison in Colorado, the latest chapter in a stunning downfall of a charismatic politician that has seemed more like a bizarre reality TV show than a legal battle.
An Aurora man died Monday night after he was Tasered while in police custody. Jersey K. Green was Tasered after he jumped on a police squad car. He lost consciousness and, after being rushed to Rush-Copley Medical Center, was pronounced dead shortly thereafter.
A tip from a "concerned citizen" resulted in the arrest of a McHenry County couple after deputies discovered heroin in their apartment. Jimmy L. Granderson, 49, and Amanda L. Crawford, 34, both of 801 Washington #7 in Woodstock, were arrested March 13 after McHenry County Sheriff's Office received a tip that there was heroin sales taking place at the residence.
What seemed like an early-morning explosion in Glenbrook Hopsital’s west parking lot has prompted closures at two area schools, Winkelman Elementary and Glenbrook South, March 14. Police later discovered it was a fire, not an explosion. The suspect, 20-year-old Niles man Leonard Reinebach, has been arrested and charged with criminal damage to property and disorderly conduct.

Interesting point. I'm glad the Patch has brought this up, because, to be fair I think we need to judge all presidential aspirants by the same standard, and ask the same probing question of all of them to make sure we know who they really are and whether or not their values and beliefs mesh with those of our main stream religious institutions and the people in general.
In that spirit I look forward to the Patch's analysis of President Obama's Trinity United Church of Christ, which teaches Black Liberation Theology involving militant anti-white messages, anti-capitalism, and radical anti-Americanism... and how well those teachings mesh with the greater Christian community.
What? That's not coming? The next article is going to be about whether or not Romney's Mormonism will be tolerated by Christian bigots? Oh, I see.
Never mind.

Sandra Fluke is a joke! She can somehow come up with tuition to Georgetown Law School (around $200,000), but can't afford to buy her own rubbers...please!!

Right, because she's obviously paying for it all out of pocket. It's not like she has a "Public Interest Scholarship" to help pay for college.
Oh wait...

Ms. Fluke didn't testify about her OWN need for contraception. She spoke of another student who needed hormonal treatment (in the form of birth control pills) to prevent cysts on her ovaries. Because the other student couldn't afford the pills, and couldn't get Georgetown's insurance to pay as it should have done, she eventually had to have her ovaries removed. That surgery cost much more than many years of pills, and will affect her health for the rest of her life.
