Public Meeting Planned to Discuss Railway Issue

The village of Barrington will hold a meeting to discuss the grade separation project at Route 14 and the Elgin Joliet & Eastern Railway.

The community is invited to a public meeting this week to discuss the grade separation project at Route 14 and the Elgin Joliet & Eastern Railway (EJ&E).

Engineers are working on a plan to build a road underpass where Route 14 meets the railway to mitigate traffic concerns due to increased freight train traffic.

The meeting is slated to take place Wednesday, May 2 from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. in the multi-purpose room at Roslyn Road School

The meeting was called for the public to be informed of recent data gathered regarding the railway, and aspects that should be considered during the engineering process.
