Those involved with Relay for Life hope a custom purple Jeep Wrangler will raise awareness about the cause this year. 

Wickstrom Auto Group, a sponsor and honorary chair of Barrington's 2012 Relay for Life unveiled the vehicle during a photo shoot with the event's chairperson, Joanne Dalessandro on Monday, Feb. 27. 

"Our is hope is that the purple Jeep will raise awareness for Relay For Life and inspire the community to get involved by starting, joining or donating to a RFL team and celebrating at the Relay on June 8th," Richard Wickstrom of Wickstrom Auto Group said. 

The Jeep's first public appearance was made on Monday at Barrington High School during Relay For Life's Team Captain's meeting. The Jeep will make the rounds to other Relay for Life events before making a final stop at the relay June 8th at the Barrington Community Stadium.
