Soil grown in a healthy well balance soil does indeed make your food taste better.
At the University of Guelph in Ontario they are doing research on what soil conditions make for the tastiest food. Their findings indicted what wine growers have understood for hundreds of years, that when the soil is optimal
so is the crop grown in it.
The term used to describe this in Terroir and has a lot to do with Brix levels (sugars) Calcium, clay content and compost. So maybe the best recipe for flavor begins in the dirt!
Have you ever noticed or experienced soil affecting flavor?
