Award-winning journalist Michele Mitchell will return to Barrington to present a screening of the film Haiti: Where Did the Money Go?” at 7 pm at the Barrington Area Library, 505 N. Northwest Highway, Barrington, IL.

The film, made by the independent media company Film@Eleven which Michele co-founded, examines Haiti’s living conditions and how relief funds have been spent two years after the country was rocked by a powerful 7.0 earthquake. Mitchell will show the film and then lead a question-and-answer session after the film.

On a 2008 visit to Barrington, Michele presented her documentary Daughter’s for Sale, the story of child slavery in Nepal.

This 60,000 square foot library offers residents a state of the art facility to enjoy. The library holds thousands of books, CDs and videos, as well as providing Internet access and other activities. The library was established in 1915, and opened its doors on Northwest Highway in 1978.
