Have you ever heard people say, “Go for the Gold”, “Eye on the Prize”, “Never Give Up”.  With the London Olympics 2012 just around the corner, we do feel like a part of the winning team, cheering on for our countries’ representatives at the Olympics.  Who doesn’t want to win and bring home the Gold medal, be proud of their achievements and justify their hard work.  Our society is made up of the winning culture.  We celebrate our success, we support each other and provide a community of trust.  This is the spirit of hope for our world.  It is through the Olympic games that our search to fight for life is ignited ever so passionately.

Our everyday lifestyle could be a “rut” and everyone has a story to tell.  I love these activities, such as the sport events, competition, winning and losing match, ever being the better one.  Now, let’s slow down and look around us a bit closer.  Do we really have to win all the time?  Do we really have to put on our game face and push ourselves and others to the limits?

I do agree it is important to try our best, to do right thing, but remember, we are humans, we are built to form community of trust, and support for each other.  Bring in the champion but also foster the ones who try their best.  An encouraging word, a smile, a pat on the shoulder and tell them, it is alright to lose this time, as long as you have tried your best, we know.

Here is a great read I would like to recommend to you called “Fully Alive” by Ken Davis.  I agree with what he said, “The bottom-line is not in performance, but the bottom-line is in building relationships”.

Enjoy!
