Higher Ed Conference for Adults at Robert Morris University

The Robert Morris University College of Adult Continuing Studies and the Morris Graduate School of Management are sponsoring the Second Annual Adult Higher Education Conference on Wednesday, July 24, 2013, from 2 to 7 pm at the RMU Chicago campus, 401 S. State Street in downtown Chicago. This event is offered at no charge and is designed for adults completing a degree for the first time, pursuing a different career, or considering graduate school.

 

The conference focuses on providing answers to adults seeking to earn a degree. Local higher education and community leaders will discuss current topics impacting education and careers.

The opening keynote speaker for the conference will be Jeanne Sparrow of WCIU’s You and Me This Morning on The U. A multi-talented media performer, Ms. Sparrow is an Emmy Award-winning program host and reporter, a voice-over artist and former radio personality.

The event will then feature sessions with representatives of John Marshall Law School, the Illinois Student Assistance Commission, Swedish Covenant Hospital, Chicago Digital and Robert Morris University.  The speakers will cover such topics as professional branding, self-marketing, nutrition, social media, funding options for college and personal motivation.

 

Wrapping up the conference is special guest motivational speaker Stedman Graham, author and CEO of S. Graham & Associates, who will speak on maximizing leadership and achieving success.

 

In addition to the participating organizations, The Adult Higher Education Conference is made possible by support from Panera Bread, Verizon, Complete Degree, Intrax, REACh, Triton College, Cardinal Stritch University and The Institute for Clinical Social Work. These sponsors will also be available to attendees in the expo area between sessions.
