What to do on New Year's Eve: Join with family and friends to fight child hunger

There are plenty of things to do on New Year’s Eve, but perhaps none more rewarding than joining with friends and family to pack meals for starving kids at Feed My Starving Children (FMSC) sites in Aurora, Schaumburg and Libertyville.

Special “Fully Invested” sessions are being offered from 7-9 pm and 10 p.m. to midnight at all three locations. For these “Fully Invested” sessions, FMSC requires each packer to bring $50 to cover the cost of the meals.

In addition to this special "Fully Invested" session on New Year's Eve, FMSC offers weekend and weekday packing opportunities. Check availability, locations and times and sign up at fmsc.org/volunteer

A Christian non-profit founded in 1987, Feed My Starving Children tackles world hunger by sending volunteer-packed, nutritious MannaPack™ meals to orphanages, schools, clinics and other programs that break the cycle of poverty in developing nations. In the most recent fiscal year, FMSC welcomed 657,000 volunteers to produce 163 million meals shipped to nearly 50 countries. FMSC has maintained the highest four-star rating from Charity Navigator for eight consecutive years and spends 92% of total donations directly on feeding the hungry. Visit fmsc.org.
