Barrington Breakfast Rotary Celebrates 25 Years

Volunteer organization puts "service above self."

 

 

The Barrington Breakfast Rotary Club received a proclamation in appreciation of 25 years of service to the Barrington community, at last week’s village board meeting.

The Barrington Breakfast Rotary was chartered on April 19, 1988. It’s theme is “Service Above Self.”

Some of the projects the BBRC has initiated, lead or supported include:

  • A lightning warning system at all parks and schools.
  • Barrington’s first Community Emergency Response Team (CERT).
  • Academic and vocational scholarships.
  • Assistance to non-profits such as Art in the Barn, food pantries, Meals on Wheels.
  • Participation in Barrington Giving Days and 4th of July celebration with the brat tent.

 

BBRC meets at 7 a.m. on Thursdays at the Garlands.
