Waterfowl Walk Follow along as long as you like as we visit several of the wetland areas here at Crabtree to see what waterfowl flew in. |Sunday, November 4, 9 am - noon

Animal Homes Where does wildlife hideout for the cold winter months? Some migrate, some prepare for winter and a select few hibernate. Join a naturalist and learn about local wildlife and try to locate some animal homes on our trail walk.| Sunday, November 11, 1 pm

Gifts from Nature Use natural items to create one-of-a-kind gifts. Stamp a leaf covered table runner, make stick picture frames and more. Adult & ages 12 and up (with an adult) $5 per person. Register in advance. |Saturday, November 17, 1pm

Prairie Planting Come learn about the history of tall grass prairies in Illinois as well as what we can do to preserve and protect our native grasslands for the future. We will also spend part of our time sowing the seeds we previously collected. Hat, gloves, sturdy shoes, long pants and long sleeved shirt recommended. |Sunday, November 25, 1 pm

ESI - Environmental Scene Investigation Follow tracks, examine scat (droppings), listen to animal sounds and see if you can solve these indoor mysteries! |Saturdays and Sundays throughout December, 10 am – 3 pm

Natural History of Holiday Plants Take a break from the holiday madness to learn more about the plants that became icons of the holiday season. |Sunday, December 2, 1 pm

Evening Owl Hikes Join us for an informative talk about these nocturnal hunters.  Afterwards we’ll look for these unique predators. Call to reserve your spot. |Friday, December 7 & Friday, December 14, 7 pm

Feathered Friend Feeders Craft some simple bird feeders from natural and recycled materials. $1 per person. |Sunday, December 9, 1 pm

Animal Tracks Animals are ever present at Crabtree but not always seen.  Learn ways of identifying animals by the signs they may have left around the area. Then you can make an animal track of your own that you can take home.| Saturday, December 15, 1 pm

Needle Felted Wool Creations Learn how to make amazing works of art using natural wool fibers. Taught by artist Kimberly Butts. Reservations are required and attendance is limited. |Sunday, December 16, 1 pm

Sunday Matinee Sit back and relax with a nature themed movie and popcorn on a Sunday afternoon. |Sunday, December 23, noon – 3 pm
