Donations Needed to Keep Catlow Theater Open

The historic Barrington movie theater may need to convert to the digital age to remain open.

The has been a mainstay in Barrington for 85 years, but the beautiful Main Street landmark may need to close its doors if it can't go digital.

Catlow Theater owner Tim O'Connor wrote a letter published on Kickstarter.com that explains the Hollywood movie industry is soon eliminating their use of film. This means every theater in the country would have to convert to using a digital format to show movies, including the Catlow.

The cost of this upgrade for the Catlow Theater would be at least $100,000. O'Donnell explains he needs the support of the community in order to make this possible. Kickstarter.com is serving as a fundraising site for the Catlow. Head to the website to make a donation.
