Earth Day Event at Deer Grove features Toni Preckwinkle

All residents are encouraged to participate in the Sierra Club Earth Day event to be held on Saturday, April 21, at Deer Grove East Forest Preserve off of Dundee Road. Special lunchtime guests include Toni Preckwinkle, Cook County Board President, and Debra Shore, Commissioner, Metropolitan Water Reclamation District. The event begins at 9:30 am and will end at 2:30 pm at Grove 2 where guests of all ages will be participating in some ecological restoration work.  At noon, free lunch will be served accompanied by a talk by President Preckwinkle. Besides the restoration work, demonstrations, activities, and tours will also be conducted by subject matter experts. The public is welcomed at any time during the event, no registration is required, but appropriate clothing is recommended.
