PC Clean up in Aisle 10: PC SmartBar Finds Customers in the Grocery Aisle: Dominick’s Lake Zurich is First of its Kind for PC SmartBar

Nov. 15, 2011 -- The holiday shopping season is upon us, and this year local shoppers can ramp up the savings and speed up their digital capabilities while they stock up on groceries.

This weekend, on Saturday, November 19 and Sunday, November 20, before grabbing Thanksgiving ingredients, Dominick’s shoppers in Lake Zurich will experience a retail concept at their local grocery store that is the first of its kind in the country.  PC Smart Bar, a full-service, walk-up PC help desk and support center, will expand from its Deer Park hub location to the Lake Zurich Dominick’s, providing habitual shoppers with a one-stop opportunity to access fast track computer and smartphone support services.

“Consumers love to multi-task and PC Smart Bar gives busy consumers a one-stop solution at Dominick’s,” explains Tom Barbera, PC SmartBar co-founder. “Just like at our Deer Park location, consumers can drop off a troublesome PC, replace a smartphone screen, remove a virus or upgrade their digital capabilities--all while they get after their shopping list.”

While unique in its walk-up PC help desk concept, PC Smart Bar is part of a growing trend of retailers and service providers partnering with grocery stores to provide shoppers with added value.  The PC Smart Bar “store-within-a-store” at the Lake Zurich Dominick’s allows thousands of daily shoppers the opportunity of an accessible solution to PC challenges.

At PC Smart Bar’s grand opening on Saturday, Nov. 19 and Sunday, Nov. 20 at Dominick’s, free PC diagnostic check ups and speed ups will be offered to the first 100 shoppers who bring in their smartphone or computer for repair. In addition, everyone 18 years and older can register for an opportunity to win a Google Chromebook and free services while they shop.  Before they hit the registers, shoppers can step up to the bar and learn how to maximize their savings with digital and online couponing.

“We have a very consumer-friendly approach to helping PC and smartphone users,” continues Barbera.  “People love the concept because we present fast-track, low-cost solutions.  Our customers tell us we are the genius solution for the PC owner, and we take the intimidation and geek factor out of PC and smartphone support.”

The PC Smart Bar is located near the front of the store, next to Chase Bank.  Many services are available for well under $90 as the consumer shops, such as screen repairs for iPhones, HTC and Samsung smartphones. A walk-up help desk technician is available to support everything from laptop screen repairs, running virus removals and resolving networking issues to repairing smartphone water damage, software bugs and configuration challenges.

To extend the Dominick’s celebration to new customers, PC Smart Bar will also offer consumers a chance to win an additional Google Chromebook in a December 24 drawing, via social media channels.  Consumers earn a chance to win by: follow ‘pcsmartbar’ on Twitter, a “like” on Facebook, texting ‘pcsmartbar’ to 90210 or emailing info@pcsmartbar.com
