Extreme Cold Hits Barrington … Again

The cold is back. 

The Chicago area is expected to see wind chill readings as low as 10 to 20 below zero Tuesday night. During the day Wednesday, a high of 14 degree is in the forecast for Barrington while wind chill values could reach as low as -12, according to the National Weather Service. 

There is also a chance of snow on Wednesday with less than a half-inch of accumulation expected in Barrington. Wind gusts could reach as high as 30 mph and result in blowing snow. 

Throughout the Chicago area, wind chill values between 20 to 30 below zero are possible Wednesday night into Thursday morning and again Thursday night into Friday morning, according to the NWS. 

The extreme cold should get a break on Friday when temps will reach a high of 21 degrees in Barrington.
