Why go: Kids will be professionally supervised and kept entertained by pizza, playtime, stories and a movie so parents can enjoy a night out (or just a night off.)

Why go: Hawaiian dancers, face painting, balloon artists, games, crafts and refreshments – plus its all free and open to the public.

Why go: Older children (grades 4 to 8 welcome) are sure to be entertained at this fun theme party celebrating Mardi Gras and Carnival. Moms, drop your kids off and enjoy an afternoon of errand-running all by yourself.

Where/When: Wellness Center, 900 W Central Rd, Arlington Heights. Saturday, Feb. 26 from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. 

Why go: Chicago Bear and Superbowl Champ Otis Wilson will be there to support his namesake charity, plus there’s tons of events geared towards kids and families including zumba, sports workout and family hours at the pool, basketball and track.

Where/When: , 11000 Ruth Rd, Huntley. Monday, Feb. 28 from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m.

Why go: Do your kids have a case of the Mondays? Let them work out their problems with the Huntley Library’s collection of Legos.
