Noon Rotary Club to Honor Barrington Emergency Responders on 9/11 Anniversary

Luncheon and ceremony planned on Wednesday, Sept. 11.

The Barrington Noon Rotary Club will honor 35 Barrington police and firefighters on the anniversary of Sept. 11.

“Fire and police officials risk their personal safety every day as first responders when Barrington-area residents are in need,” said Alexis Portugal, president of the Noon Rotary Club.

“Our club adheres to the Rotary motto of ‘Service above Self,’ which also characterizes these brave men and women who selflessly protect our communities. It is appropriate for us to recognize our local heroes to coincide with this national commemoration.”
