Patch Pet: Blackie is Short but Sweet!

Hi! I’m Blackie, a 12-year-old Bassador (that’s Basset hound/Labrador, in case you were wondering!), and I am a fun dog stuffed into a short package!

I am a great dog in every way – housebroken, good with dogs and with cats, gentle and trustworthy, and very very sweet! I ended up at the pound when my owner’s health failed, and I was so lucky to become a part of Young at Heart’s program!

I love to be with you and keep you company, and really enjoy anything you want to do. The ONLY thing I really, really don’t like is if you touch my feet. But I enjoy walks and car rides and nap time and play time and…. well, just about everything else! What I really need now is a family to call my own. I’d love a family with another dog or cat, and older kids are ok (younger kids can visit, though! Just don’t touch my feet!!).

I can’t wait to snuggle up next to my new mom or dad, and bring lots of laughter and smiles to my new home. After all, anyone who has ever met a Bassador knows just how many new friends they meet, and how much love I will bring to my new family!

I’m healthy and already neutered, up-to-date on my vaccinations, and microchipped. My adoption fee of $175 allows Young at Heart Pet Rescue to help other older dogs and cats like me get a second chance at a happily ever after. Just fill out an adoption application to arrange a visit.
