Pink Heals Rides into Town This Weekend

Advocate Good Shepherd Hospital hosts nonprofit.

Pink Heals, a nonprofit that raises awareness about breast cancer, is rolling into Barrington on its 2013 Tour.

The Pink Heals Tour 2013 features pink fire trucks, police cars and firefighters and police officers dressed in pink. The tour is making a stop from 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 4 at Advocate Good Shepherd Hospital, 450 West Highway 22, Barrington.

The organization also has its own clothing brand and merchandise that is sold at each event. All the proceeds going to local Pink Heals chapters, according to its website.

Cancer patients and survivors are invited to write a message on the trucks, which have been all over the country.

Founder Dave Graybill also wrote a book, “Pink Heals The Mending of America” that chronicles his efforts to form the nonprofit.
