Thomas Boyle Remembered on Anniversary of Death

It’s been a year since retired Marine Thomas Boyle, Jr. was killed in action in Afghanistan.

Barrington Hills officials and community members honored his memory on Tuesday by lowering the flag outside of village hall to half-mast at the time of his death. 

Boyle’s widow, Pauline, shared some words a friend wrote to her on the anniversary of her husband’s death.

“Life on earth has taken a different turn for you now and you have been given the opportunity to keep Tom's name and memory alive with dignity and honor, and to pass his sacred legacy on to others. Life is our best and last gift. His story continues through you.”
