Don’t miss this Christmas tradition in the village of Barrington. Take the free trolley to shopping centers all over town including The Foundry, the Shops at Lageschulte, Ice House Mall, and the village center. Each shopping center has something special planned including a petting zoo at The Foundry, and story time with Mrs. Claus at the Ice House Mall. The village tree lighting ceremony will take place at 5 p.m. at the corner of Park and Cook Streets near Main Street. Visits with Santa are from 5 to 6:30 p.m. in the red house on Cook Street. The Nutcracker

Barrington High School
 
Barrington Youth Dance Ensemble will perform the holiday favorite The Nutcracker at Barrington High School all weekend. Several area youth are cast as main roles including Barrington’s Hannah Ray as the Dew Drop Fairy and Brittany Bonefas of Lake Zurich High School as The Snow Queen. Yule Log Open House
Sunday, Dec. 2 2 to 4 p.m.
Stillman Nature Center
 
Learn how to make this festive seasonal decoration out of natural materials. It makes a great centerpiece. Kids are welcome but no scout groups, please. Stop by anytime between 2 and 4 p.m. Please call 847-428-6957 to let Stillman Nature Center know you will be attending. Member's fee: 1st log free, non-member's fee: $5/log.
