Weekend Planner: Movie Screenings, Wildflower Hike

Educate yourself this weekend – two movie screenings feature topics that are both enlightening and entertaining.

Why go: Learn about sustainable agriculture and the Earth’s food ecosystem in this documentary screening at the Conscious Cup. Tickets include sustainable snacks from Duke’s Alehouse and a gift basket from Door to Door organics.

Why go: Stop by Foxford Hills to socialize, view the course, practice your golf putt or swing at mini-clinics with the golf pros and enjoy food and drinks. It’s free and open to the public.

Where/When: , 427 W. Virginia St., Crystal Lake. Saturday, April 23 from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.   

Why go: Help beautify Crystal Lake by cleaning up trash winter has let behind. Volunteers of all ages are welcome and will be dispatched throughout the city to work. The Chamber of Commerce will also be collecting worn U.S. flags to be retired at this event.
