Area Naturalist Leads Barrington-Area Bird Walks in Coming Weeks

The first bird walk will be held on Sept. 6.

Fall bird walks in the Barrington area can give residents a chance to get outdoors and learn more about fall migration, according to a Citizens for Conservation press release.

The bird walks will kick off on Sept. 6 and will be hosted by Barrington-area naturalist Wendy Paulson and co-sponosored by the Audubon Chicago Region and Citizens for Conservation.

The walks are free and open to the public. Space is limited and RSVPs are required by contacting Janis Wesley at 847-328-1250 ext. 10 or jwesley@audobon.org and letting her know how to best reach those interested attending.

The bird walks will be held on the following dates:

  • Sept. 6 at 3:30 p.m.: Bakers Lake at the parking lot on Highland Avenue south of Hillside Avenue
  • Sept. 20 at 7:30 a.m.: Galloping Hills. Attendees should park at the Penny Road Pond parking lot in Barrington Hills.
  • Sept. 27 at 7:30 a.m.: Flint Creek Savanna. Attendees should park at CFC headquarters at 459 Route 22.
  • Oct. 4 at 8 a.m.: Beese Park. Attendees should meet at Beese Park on the east end of Cornell Avenue.

Additional fall outings may be added at a later date, according to the news release.
