Auditions

TesserAct Theatre Ensemble and the Barrington Cultural Arts Center will hold auditions for “The Lutwidge Canvass” and “Button for Nuttin’” from 2-4 p.m. Sunday, March 6, (sign-up begins at 1:30 p.m.) and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday, March 8, (sign-up begins at 6:30 p.m.) at the BCAC Gallery in the Ice House Mall, 200 Applebee St., Barrington.

Auditions are open to anyone aged high school and older. Come prepared with a one-minute monologue and a song that is 32 measures in length. (If you only wish to audition for “Lutwidge Canvass,” no song is required.) For more information about the available roles, visit www.tesseractensemble.com.

A reading performance of the play “The Lutwidge Canvass” will be held at 7 p.m. Friday, April 15, at the BCAC gallery. “The Lutwidge Canvass” is a 13-character zany mystery filled with puns, innuendo, mistaken identity and murder

A reading performance of the musical “Button for Nuttin,’” will be held at 7 p.m. Friday, June 17, at the BCAC Gallery. Nuttin, the unluckiest town ever, enters into a cook-off competition with the town of Plenty in this musical written by Marc Ross, with music by Larry Boisen.

The readings are part of “Third Fridays…in the Gallery,” a monthly program sponsored by the Barrington Cultural Arts Center and TesserAct Theatre Ensemble.
