Barrington Celtic Fest

The Village of Barrington is truly a great place to live, work and play, and for the second straight year it will host one of the largest St. Patrick’s Day events in the suburban Chicagoland area.  The 2nd annual Barrington Celtic Fest will take place on Friday March 16th and Saturday March 17th on the 200 block Park Avenue, just East of South Cook Street and including McGonigal’s Pub. The two-day festival will run 11 AM - 2 AM all day Friday, and on St. Patrick's Day the Pub opens at 9 AM with the party lasting until 2 AM.  A large heated tent will be erected over a good portion of Park Avenue so patrons can enjoy the celebration outdoors without worries about the fickle March weather!  The festival tent is open 11 AM – 1 AM both days.

The agenda for both days includes live music, a mix of local retail restaurants and merchants, various entertainment including Irish dancers, bagpipers, headlining bands and Irish crooners, special guest appearances, and of course plentiful availability of food and beverages both in the outdoor festival area and within the Pub.  Admission to the tent and pub is FREE for both days during the day, though we will be requesting a small donation for evening arrivals to help support costs and the American Cancer Society’s Relay For Life.

Limited seating for dining will be available in our Pub 2nd level, and there will also be tables in the Festival Tent and some available at neighboring Park Avenue Wine Bar (sorry, no reservations taken).  The Pub will be offering a limited menu inside, though there will be plenty of additional food options in the tent, featuring delicious cuisine from Clarke’s Bakery & Deli, Cooper’s of Barrington, McGonigal’s Pub and Park Avenue Wine Bar.  Families and the younger crowds are welcome, though the event does become 21+ in age after 6:00 PM both inside and outside.  All food and beverages transactions in the tent will be cash only; credit cards can be used for service within the Pub.

The entire event is located in downtown Barrington, centered around McGonigal’s Pub at 105 S. Cook Street, which is located one block east of Rt. 59 (Hough Street) and half a block south of Lake-Cook Road (Main Street).  There is plenty of parking available in the downtown Barrington area, and access to the event via the Union Pacific Northwest Metra Rail is very convenient as the event is located only two blocks west of the Barrington Station.
