Carmel Catholic Spring Musical "CHICAGO"

Carmel’s 2011 Spring Musical— Carmel Catholic Students to Present Chicago

In the roaring twenties Chicago, Roxie Hart murders her unfaithful lover and convinces her hapless husband Amos to take the rap…until he finds out he’s been duped and turns on Roxie.  Convicted and sent to death row, Roxie and another “Merry Murderess” Velma Kelly, vie for the spotlight and the headlines, ultimately joining forces in search of the “American Dream:” fame, fortune, and acquittal.  This sharp edged satire features a dazzling score that sparked immortal staging by Bob Fosse.

Carmel Catholic’s Fine Arts students are a dedicated group of talented students who are interested in excellence in theater and the arts. Under the direction of enthusiastic Fine Arts faculty members, these students have the opportunity to participate in plays, musicals, and instrumental and choral presentations throughout the school year. Not only do students learn to sing, act and perform, but also they are given the opportunity to learn lighting, set design, staging, and promotion for a well-rounded fine arts education experience.
