HPNI Duck Race and Pool Party

Ready! Set! QUACK!

Join Hospice and Palliative Care of Northeastern Illinois (HPNI) in celebrating 19 years of duck to duck competition in the annual Barrington Duck Race and Pool Parties this summer. Adopt one duck (or a whole family!), watch them race down the slides and may the best duck win!

Swimming, food and games will also be available for everyone. The event benefits HPNI’s Care for Children Fund, which supports the pediatric hospice and palliative care programs.

Many families of HPNI’s youngest patients have eitherexhausted their medical insurance or have no medical coverage at all, which is why your support is so critical. Last year, HPNI was able to provide almost $960,000 for care to children and families with no resources because of the community’s generosity.

At the Duck Races and Pool Parties, hundreds of colorful plastic ducks are launched off a water slide and “race” to the finish. Participants have a chance to win prizes by “adopting” (purchasing) ducks. Each duck is numbered and the winning numbers will be announced after each race.
