Performance of "The Lutwidge Canvass"

TesserAct Theatre Ensemble will present a staged reading of "The Lutwidge

Canvass" at 7 p.m. Friday, April 15, at the Barrington Cultural Arts Center in

the Ice House Mall at 200 Applebee St., Barrington.

This zany mystery, written by playwright David Alex of Chicago, takes place in

1939. Follow the adventures of Duncan Lutwidge, a brilliant professor of

mathematical logic, and his lovely and witty wife, Alice, as they attempt to

solve a murder. See if you can keep up with the quick verbal repartee between

Duncan and Alice, and sort out the clues left by a menagerie of characters

including a Russian spy, crusty police officers, a colorful art expert and the

FBI. The reading will be staged coffee-house style with action taking place in

and around the audience at times.

Appearing in the play are Katie Dapper of Arlington Heights, Robb Fanning and Mike Latone of Barrington, Becky Simo of Elmhurst, Shelley Carlson of Lake Barrington, Jim Sullivan of Rolling Meadows, Linda and Rick Browne of West Dundee, David Reiser, Marc Ross, Judith Ross, Zach Carson, Margaret Jackson,  Faith and Beth Hollander, all of Palatine.  Melissa Hollander and John Anthony, both of Palatine, are directing and Julie Price of Palatine is producing.

"The Lutwidge Canvass" is part of a collaborative effort between TesserAct and

BCAC, "Third Fridays in the Gallery." Tickets cost $5 each and are available at

the door. Refreshments will be served. Come out and enjoy this fun-filled

evening.
