RUMORS COMING TO BHS IN THE SPRING
Barrington High School Fine Arts Department will be performing RUMORS, one of the biggest hits by America’s “King of Comedy”, Neil Simon. This fast-paced farce will run May 5, 6, 7, at 7:30 PM, with a matinee on Saturday, May 7, at 2:30 PM. The insanity starts when a deputy mayor of New York and his wife invite four couples to their fancy suburban home to celebrate their tenth wedding anniversary. When the first couple arrives, they find the hostess gone and the host lying upstairs with a superficial bullet wound. They try to hide what they fear is a scandal from the second couple, who tries to hide it from the third, and so on, but unfortunately, no one can keep the story straight! Soon, all the guests are caught in a mad melee of rumors and comic confusion. A car crash, a therapist attempting a group session by phone, a would-be senator running from his suspicious wife, missing Oriental servants, and the arrival of the police provide additional grist for the rumor and humor mill. Tickets will be $8 for adults, $5 for students, FREE for Senior Citizens, and BHS students receive one FREE admission with their student ID.
