Giordano Dance Project at BHS this Weekend

Giordano Dance Invitational

Where: Barrington High School

When: Saturday, Feb. 4, at 7 p.m.

Why Go?: BHS Orchesis will host its Annual Dance “Invite," The Giordano Project; an evening of collaborative dance performance featuring students from neighboring high schools. The dances will then premiere in the annual recital that evening.

Fee: Tickets are $15.

Owl Program

 Where: Stillman Nature Center, 33 W. Penny Road, South Barrington

When:   Saturday, Feb. 4, 6:30pm

Why Go? After an indoor program on owls, participants will walk the trails in search of Stillman's great horned owls. Enjoy the winter landscape while listening for the hoots of resident owls. Space is limited so call 847-428-OWLS to make reservations. Don't forget to dress warmly. For ages 8 years and up. Member's

Fee: Free. Non-Member's Fee: $5.

Jazz at Lunch

Where: in Barrington 

When:  Sunday, Feb. 5, 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. 

Why Go?: Enjoy Jazz performed by a local artist Ron Swanson while you have lunch. The event is free and any donations received will be used to provide volunteers for rehabilitating destroyed areas in New Orleans.

Where: Lake Zurich High School Performing Arts Center, 300 Chruch St., Lake Zurich

When: Feb. 3 and 4, 7 p.m.; Feb. 5, 2 p.m.

Why Go?: The  Drama Club present Marc Robin’s musical rendition of the timeless classic, Alice in Wonderland. Geared toward young and old alike, this production promises to be big, colorful and leaving audiences with a smile on their face.

Performances are scheduled for Feb. 3 and 4 at 7 p.m., and Feb. 4 and 5 at 2 p.m. in the Lake Zurich High School Performing Arts Center.

Fee: Ticket prices are $8 for students, $10 for adults and can be reserved both online and at the door.
