"Nelle Reagan: Optimistic Woman" Heads to The Garlands

The play about the mother of President Ronald Reagan is scheduled for May 15.

 

The dramatic performace of “Nelle Reagan: Optimistic Woman” is coming to The Garlands of Barrington on May 15.

Janet Gilleland from the Harper College Lifelong Learning Institute portrays Nelle Reagan, mother of President Ronald Reagan in the play. Ronald Reagan's wife, Nancy, once said of her husband, "The place to begin in understanding Ronald Reagan is with his past—his roots—Ronnie is a great deal like his mother." Ron followed his mother’s advice to pursue his dreams, which gave him the courage to pursue the presidency.  Join us as actress Janet Gilleland recounts young Reagan’s life and his relationship with his optimistic and inspirational mother.

The show is set for Wednesday, May 15 from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. in The Garland’s of Barrington’s Burnham Room. Tickets are $10.
