The Catlow Theater to Present Oscar Nominated Short Films

The Barrington Cultural Comission partnered with the theater to bring the films to Barrington.

The Academy Awards are coming, but many of us won’t have the opportunity to see the short films nominated. The Barrington Cultural Commission and the Catlow Theater are aiming to change that this year.

The groups have partnered up to present an afternoon of Oscar nominated short films on Feb. 23 from noon to 4 p.m. Event goers will have the chance to see the five animated films, and the five live action films up for awards.

“This is an event we have talked about for a number of years,” said Economic & Community Development Director Peg Blanchard. “We’ve tried to bring a film festival to this community, and to be able to secure these 10 films in such a short time and show them at The Catlow is something that we really need to thank Jack Schaefer and Lisa Stamos and members of our commission for.”

Tickets are limited and on sale now for $10 per person at Village Hall, The Catlow, Boloney's and The Cultural Commission. Additional information on the event and the films being shown will be available on EnjoyBarrington.com
