Chamber of Commerce to Hold 'New Member Campaign Phone-A-Thon'

The Barrington Area Chamber of Commerce will hold a phone-a-thon competition to gain new members for the organization.

is tackling its annual new member drive in an exciting way this year. 

The chamber will host a 'New Member Campaign Phone-A-Thon Event' in an effort to gain new members. From Sept. 14-15, more than 150 volunteers will work against each other and against the clock to get new members to join the chamber. Their goal is not only to grow the chamber, but to create a greater awareness of its role in helping businesses and the community. 

"It's about business. The chamber is a thriving business," President and CEO of the Barrington Area Chamber of Commerce (BACC) Janet Meyer said. "BACC is an established association with over 840 business members who have invested in the greater Barrington regions economic vitality."

As for the competitive nature of the phone-a-thon, Meyer said it's all about having fun and promoting what current members already know about the group. 

"It's a membership organization that has invited our investors to come together in a competitive, fun team setting (with a good deal of prizes), to tell the chamber story as only investors can: from the heart."

The Barrington Area Chamber of Commerce New Member Campaign Event will kick off Sept. 14-15 and will conclude on Sept. 20 at The Surface Group International celebration at 5:01 p.m.
