Company Founded by BHS Alumnus Recognized as 'Most Promising'

A graduate of Barrington High School is founder of a successful transportation logistics company based in North Carolina.

Barrington High School alumnus Michael Osborne, who is founder of North Carolina-based ShipTransportal, was recently honored by CIO Review magazine.

His transportation logistics company was recognized as one of the "20 Most Promising Logistics Consultancy Companies of 2013."

ShipTransportal specializes in providing transportation management solutions, leverages technology and best practices to help customers improve operational efficiencies and reduce their freight costs by up to 30 percent, according to a press release.

"ShipTransportal is committed to making it easy for shipping professionals and executives to capitalize on transportation tools and solutions that help them improve efficiency," said Osborne. "We are pleased to receive this recognition because it helps to validate our performance in the marketplace."

ShipTransportal was also recently designated a "supplier of excellence" by the nation’s largest phone media company, according to a press release. Company revenues have grown 155 percent since 2009.

Obsorne earned his BA at Furman University in South Carolina and his MBA from Wake Forest University in North Carolina.
