Facebook Sued Over "Like" Button

Rembrandt Social Media claims they patented the idea first.

 

Facebook is being sued for using the “Like” button, PRNewswire.com reports.

Rembrandt Social Media has filed the lawsuit against the social media giant. Rembrandt is the patent holder of a feature created for Surfbook in 1998 that allowed users to “like” each other’s information. The lawsuit was filed in Virginia on Feb. 5, Mashable.com reports.

Facebook recently settled a class action lawsuit worth $20 million for putting users in advertisements without their consent.
