KVM Development, LLC, broke ground this week to mark the start of Phase I of Pepper Park of Lake Barrington.
The 14,900 square foot retail shopping center, at 22000 N. Pepper Road, will feature Pepper Park Coffee, a specialty coffee shop and café.
Phase I of Pepper Park of Lake Barrington is scheduled for completion in the spring of 2014. Pepper Park Coffee will host a grand opening event shortly thereafter.
Pepper Park of Lake Barrington is the first new multi-tenant retail development in Lake Barrington in over 25 years.
KVM Development CEO Ken Malo, a longtime Barrington resident, is also the founder and president of Swiss Automation, Inc., located at 1020 Northwest Highway. Swiss Automation, a Barrington fixture since 1970 when it began as a one-man shop, now employs over 180 people in a state-of-the-art facility.
Malo’s ongoing commitment to the community is evident in his latest venture.
Malo and vice president Vanessa Malo-Kurzinski, along with Bob Podgorski, president of Kelgor Construction in Lake Barrington and Kathleen Scott, Director of Business Development led the groundbreaking.
